One arrested in Chinna Bazar blasts – Expert committee continues investigation

The Srikakulam Two-Town Police have arrested Polisetti Bapiraju – one of the prime accused in the recent blasts that rocked the district’s prime center - Chinna Bazar. The brother of Bapiraju – Sooraj – could also be taken into custody in a day or two.

Meanwhile, an expert team from Hyderabad led by U Rammohan Rao is conducting its investigation at the blast site. Speaking with the press, Rammohan Rao confirmed that the fuse wires are used for work with detonators only.

Police on the other hand are conducting raids in various parts of the district in order to avoid any more blasts of this nature. The District Administration has asked the public not to store crackers / raw materials illegally. The police asked the public to contact Crime Stopper Cell at phone number 1090 if they find any crackers / explosive materials in residential areas.
