Police arrests 26 for unauthorized storage of explosive materials in Srikakulam

The police, following the Thursday blast in Srikakulam had arrested 26 persons for unauthorized storage of explosive material on Saturday. The police raided 54 shops and godowns of explosives and arrested 26 dealers. Three others are absconding. Out of t54 shops raided, only eight had licence. The unauthorized dealers were possessing ammonium nitrate, sulfur and other cracker material.

At Narasannapeta near Srikakulam, 37 detonators, 75 bundles of fuse wire and 50 kgs of highly explosive fitter salt were seized in the raids.
