Permanent solution to tackle problem of floods

District Collector says works towards this would begin soon

Srikakulam District Collector VN Vishnu said that twelve gates would be constructed at the banks of the river Nagavali in order to prevent flood water from entering into the town. He said that the works towards this will begin soon.

Once complete, the works will become a permanence solution to tackle the flooding problem. It may be recalled that the recent torrential rains and release of water from various rivers and projects in Andhra and Orissa has come to Vamsadhara and Nagavali flooding the Srikakulam town. Life has come to a stand still for few days while the Government took the help of helicopters to supply food packets to the flood affected.
