Seven die consuming adulterated toddy

Seven persons died and dozen more are battling for life in hospital after consuming adulterated arrack in Ratttakana village in Itchapuram police station limits on Sunday.

According to police sources, a number of persons attended the funeral of a relative and while coming back from the burial ground, some twenty persons took the spurious drink at noon.

Some began vomiting almost immediately. They were rushed to hospital. The condition of another five is still critical.
