Red alert in Srikakulam over naxals attack

A red alert has been sounded at all police stations, especially in vulnerable stations located along with the neighboring borders of Orissa. This follows an attack on the police station R.Udayagiri, located in an interior tribal area in Orissa by more than 100 Maoists who came in two tractors.
According to available information, three policemen and three extremists were killed in an encounter in the early hours on Friday. A tehsildar, one Sub Inspector and the Superintendent of sub jail were kidnapped. The Maoists took more than 25 weapons including Self Loading Revolvers away. A number of inmates of the sub jail were let off. Nearly thirty women and rest were men participated in the action. They also blasted the local sub jail, an inspection bungalow and a BSNL tower.
