Ragging report to be submitted to SHRC

Probe conducted by Commission Secretary

A comprehensive report about the ragging incident at GMR IT at Rajam will be submitted to the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) on Monday. The SHRC Secretary S Chellappa said that the SHRC has taken up the issue based on the reports in Electronic media and the print media and have understood the seriousness of the incident. He visited Rajam on Saturday for an enquiry which continued till late in the evening and also visited the Anjali Complex where the incident took place. He had talked to the main victim of the ragging incident, his father and principal of the GMRIT and the college Dean. During the interaction, the victim expressed fear of threat to his life.
