56 huts guttered in Moolapeta fire accident

Property loss estimated at Rs. 40 lakhs

As many as 56 huts were guttered in the fire accident in Moolapeta village in Srikakulam. The extend of the damage was more since the men in the region were not at their home. People from neighboring regions rushed to the Moolapeta village and tried to save women, children and animals who were struck in the fire.

800 liters of diesel that was brought for the engines was burnt in the accident. Fire tenders from Tekkali region located 16 kilometers immediately acted upon receiving the news but they reached the fire location late due to lack of proper roads to the region.
