The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) Chairman Justice B Sudarshan Reddy held the district administration responsible for the suicide by three youngsters at Tharlaguduru village of Vajrapukotturu mandal a couple of days back. He said that why the officials should be prosecuted for dereliction of duty. He further said that everyone right from the District Collector to Mandal Revenue Officer was answerable for the incident. He termed as a mockery of democracy and the concept of welfare state itself. In an inquiry held, he observed that a sum of Rs.700 crore was sanctioned under Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) and sought to know what the SSA district coordinator was doing while the deceased were caught in vicious circle of poverty and illiteracy. He regretted that the children would not have ended their lives had they were taken care by the villagers and joined in school and wondered whether humanity was alive. He suggested the District Administration to build a school and primary health centre and name them after Hemalata and her siblings. The SSA Coordinator B Malleswararao was directed to join all dropouts in schools before Dasara and district administration to implement all the welfare schemes. He ordered the owner of the shop who sold the pesticides to Hemalata before the Commission.
