Tractors carrying sand illegally seized

Revenue Divisional Officer says sub-lease violated the norms

Three tractors belonging to a sub- lease who was involved in illegally transporting sand from Haithi nagaram were seized and handed over to the RDO. Revenue Divisional Officer S Venkateshwara Rao said that a contractor who was given lease work for sand from the Thotapalem quarry has sub-leased his works.

The sub-lease however began to use the quarry at Haithi nagaram where quarrying for the lessee is not allowed. The Municipal Commissioner and the Mandal Revenue Office have warned of this action earlier but the sub-lease continued to violate the norms. Finally the Revenue Divisional Officer S Venkateshwara Rao resorted to action and seized the three tractors carrying the sand.
