APGenco to set up 1000 MW power plant at Srikakulam

The APGenco proposes to set up a 1,000 MW thermal power plant at a cost of Rs. 4,000 core in the district. The coal needed for power general will be procured from Talcher in Orissa and about 2tmcft of water will be required to operate the plant. For establishing the plant, APGenco requires 1200 acres of land for which the district administration has directed the Mandal Revenue Officials to survey in this regard. Revenue Divisional Officer S. Venkateswara Rao is supervising it. The District Collector, VN Vishnu said that after completion of the land and water resources, Genco officials would come and inspect the viability of setting up of the unit in Srikakulam.
