Non payment of compensation to the land acquired by Revenue department

The Senior Civil Judge on Wednesday ordered confiscation of furniture, computers and other equipment of the Revenue Divisional Office for failing to pay compensation to the owner of a land acquired by the Revenue Department for the purpose of building a housing complex.

The petitioner K Sanyasirao was displaced after the government acquired his land before building a Housing Board Colony in 1986. The government failed to pay Rs. 1.49 lakhs as compensation due to the petitioner. The Senior Civil Judge ordered confiscation of the property in RDO office.

However, the court staff could not implement the court order as the RDO was absent when they arrived the office for implementation of the court order. However, action was deferred temporarily when the administrative officer pleaded for two month's time to make the payment to the petitioner.
