The officials of the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) nabbed K Vamsi, Junior Assistant working in the District Treasury Office at Srikakulam district when he accepted a bribe of Rs. 2,500 through the attender in the same office for doing an official favour. According to sources, the official demanded the bribe to process the file and put the same to his higher ups for sanction of bill amount worth Rs. 1.7 lakhs pertaining to the complainant and four others. The officials of the ACB recovered the tainted amount and both Vamsi and his attender arrested them. In another incident, the ACB officials trapped Abdul Waheed, Assistant Labour Officer at Mancherial in Adilabad district when he accepted a bribe of Rs. 2,200 from the complainant for not registering a case under the provisions of Shops and Establishment Act, 1988 for not renewing the certificate of registration. The ACB officials conducted a surprise check on the office of the Sub Registrar at Satyavedu of Chittoor district and found three document writers in the chamber of the Sub-Registrar office from whom unaccounted cash of Rs. 12,800 collected from various persons to be given to the Sub Registrar and his staff as mamools was seized.
