Demands solutions for long pending demands

Cashew workers of Palasa and Kasibugga enforced a bandh in Palasa on Thursday demanding immediate solution for the long outstanding problems. All the shops and establishments were down their shutters in support of the bandh.

Cashew Workers Union president A. Adinarayana and secretary A. Krishna alleged that the State Government was neglecting their welfare. They said that nearly 50,000 workers are depending on the cashew industry.

They demanded that the government should permit the roasting process. The switch over to boiling process by the industry as per the directive of the Pollution Control Board would cause large scale unemployment in this region.
