Units to provide medical facilities in interior and agency areas
People in interior rural and agency areas often do not get proper and timely medical care, no matter what part of the world they are in. Four NGOs have come forward to run mobile medical units for people in the regions. Red Cross, Prerana, Snehanjali and BREDS have set up four Mobile Medical Units which were formally launched by Srikakulam District Collector VN Vishnu. Each of these mobile units will have two medical officers, a staff nurse, a lab technician and one contingent worker and is equipped will diagnostic equipment necessary to provide immediate treatment. This service will run in addition to the 108 service that is already launched and is operational.
