Medical College to come up at an estimated Rs.119 crore
The Chief Minister, Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy will lay foundation stone for the Rajiv Gandhi Medical Sciences (RIMS) at the Government District General Hospital on Wednesday. The proposed cost of the project is Rs.119 crore to come up over an area of 35.97 acres built by Lanco Infrastructure Limited. It consist of a three storied hospital with 500 beds, a medical college offering admissions to 100 seats, hostel buildings, residential quarters for staff and an auditorium. The Hospital will have nine departments, each equipped with a lecture hall, demonstration rooms, laboratory, library and accommodation for staff. The Andhra Pradesh Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation executive engineer B Appala Naidu said that the works would be completed by the end of November. He said that the government has sanctioned Rs.33 crore as first instalment and the rest would be released after completion of the work.
