104 mobile clinic for rural people to be launched from Ugadi
The Chief Minister, Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy laid the foundation stone of 119 crore Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences at the District General Hospital today. Speaking on the occasion, he announced that the government would launch a Rs.2 kilo scheme from the Telugu New Year's day. The 104 mobile clinic programme proposed for rural people will also be launched on the same day. He said that he would visit Srikakulam within six months to lay foundation stone for a university and there were proposals to provide jobs to nearly ten to fifteen lakh youths in the State in the coming three years. Minister for Medical and Health, G Aruna said that the construction of medical college would be completed by November and admissions for the first year would commence in the next academic year. The Revenue Minister, D Prasada Rao said that the government had sanctioned Rs.2,000 crore for taking up four irrigation projects in the district. The Chief Minister inaugurated the 1.29 km long and 60 feet wide extended road between the Seven Roads Junction and Arasavilli road at the Potti Sriramulu Junction. The municipality was given Rs.1.12 crore for giving compensation to 165 oustees. He added that there is a proposal to lay a broad road from Arasavilli Junction to the Collectorate via Rajiv Gruhakalpa Colony.
