District revenue records to be computerized soon
All the revenue records of the Srikakulam district would be computerized soon. The decision to computerize the revenue records and to connect them to the Registration Department is part of the Government's plan to computerize the records of all areas in the state. Speaking to the media, Principal Secretary of the Revenue Department Anil Chandra said that the computerization of revenue records is already in places like Warangal, Chittoor and Peleru.
The computerization will help better management and transparency in land transactions. Authorization cards would be provided to tenant farmers who could be used while approaching banks for loans. Srikakulam district collector G Venkatram Reddy told the Principal Secretary that 340 tenant farmers were given loans so far. Joint Collector E Sridhar said that land mapping was done in the district to protect the government lands from encroachments.
