Truck carrying uranium ore meets with an accident on the bypass road at Narasannapeta

A truck carrying uranium ore caused panic at Narasannapeta for a while as it met with an accident. The accident occurred when it rammed a lorry at the bypass road. The accident triggered fears of spillage. Traffic halted for a longtime on the busy National Highway 16. No one is injured in the accident. The truck was carrying uranium ore from Jharkhand to the Nuclear Fuel Complex at Hyderabad.

The security staff following the truck immediately alerted the police. They assured the police that there was no threat as all precautions were taken. Srikakulam DSP L Arjun, Narasannapeta Circle Inspector DSRVSN Murthy reached the spot and diverted the traffic. The axle and windscreen of the truck were damaged in the accident and arrangements were made to get the truck repaired.
