Amudalavalasa MLA Boddepalli Satyavati has threatened to quit the Congress party. Satyavati has opposed the dissolution of Ponduru Market Committee. However, the government went ahead and issued orders dissolving the market committee. Hurt by the government's move, Satyavati threatened that she would quit the party.

Rumors are making rounds that Boddepalli Satyavati is interested in joining the YSR Congress Party. Political analysts say that this move of threatening the Congress party that she would leave is only an excuse to join the YSR Congress Party.
